MasterChef The Professionals: ‘I’m shocked!’ Fans in meltdown over chef’s bold move

MasterChef: The Professionals was back on BBC Two tonight and it saw a group of young professional chefs battle it out for a place in the quarter-finals. The professionals were on fine form tonight with most of them delivering excellent dishes in the final round, yet one contestant stood out amongst the rest. That contestant was Alex, 26, from Surrey, who opted to make one of the most ingenious puddings the judges had ever tasted. Alex made them a raspberry soufflé with a cream cheese ice cream, which sounds hard enough, yet Alex opted to put the ice cream inside the soufflé. “Where is the cream cheese ice cream?” asked food critic William Sitwell when Alex presented his soufflé. Alex laughed and said: “The cream cheese ice cream I’ve served inside." “Oh, it’s inside, ” replied William in pure amazement. However, even he wasn’t prepared for how good the soufflé turned out to be. “It's a very good soufflé. It’s a perfect soufflé actually. It really tastes of raspberries, ” he exclaimed after eating the pudding. “And then there’s this piece of magic where he’s been able to get cream cheese ice cream inside a hot soufflé which ....
